Robert Forster is an Academy Award nominee known for his solid work in numerous popular films. His Oscar-nominated role of Max Cherry in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown marked the beginning of what he considers the "third act" of his career - now spanning five decades.Starting in 1966, Forster has appeared in over 100 films including Reflections in a Golden Eye, Medium Cool, The Stalking Moon, Alligator, Vigilante, The Black Hole, Stunts, Delta Force and one of his all-time favorites, American Perfekt.
Since Jackie Brown in 1997, his films include The Descendants, Middle Men, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Thick as Thieves, Like Mike, Me, Myself & Irene, Firewall, Lakeboat and Diamond Men. His recent television credits include Heroes, Huff!, Karen Sisco and Fastlane.
In addition to his work in film, television and theater, Forster records audio books, including the bestseller Hit Man and Elmore Leonard's Mr. Paradise. He also has developed his own speaking program, "Interacting," which he has presented to a variety of groups, ranging from actors to graduating classes to baggage handlers to CEOs, and once (he's pleased to report) to a group of white-collar criminals in a detention facility. The "Interacting" program consists of a "menu" of positive stories (and a few jokes) about the lessons of his life that outline several guiding principles -- respect, responsibility, parenting (even without children), excellence and raising any job to the level of an art form. From Rochester, New York, Forster currently lives in Los Angeles.
