By Michelle HlubiThe highly anticipated series Revenge starts on M-Net and M-Net HD on Thu at 19:30. The show has already had record ratings in the US and has also been nominated for Favourite TV Drama at the People’s Choice Awards.
The show kicks off with Emily Thorne arriving at the Hamptons. She appears to be a friendly and sophisticated ‘girl next door’ but looks can be deceiving.
Emily is hiding a dark family secret. Seventeen years ago, her father was framed for a crime by neighbours he trusted, and was sentenced to life in prison. Emily never saw her father again, and spent her childhood consumed by rage, loss and betrayal. Now she's returning under an assumed identity with one goal in sight – revenge.
Besides wanting to see what happens next, here are five more reasons why you should tune in.
Emily VanCamp
You’ve seen this gorgeous actress in big shows such as Everwood and Brothers & Sisters but rumour has it that she shines as the vengeful Emily Thorne. You be the judge.

Watch a real life couple in action
Emily VanCamp, who plays Emily Thorne, and Josh Bowman who plays Daniel Grayson, are a real life couple. They started dating while filming Revenge; see if you can spot the chemistry in their scenes.

Nolan’s outfits
Nolan Ross (played by Gabriel Mann) is one stylish nerd. He is the founder of tech company NolCorp and uses his billions wisely by investing in his appearance. He wears lots of pastels, brightly coloured bowties, colour-coordinated pocket protectors and white before Labour Day.

You know the cast from somewhere
Almost all the actors in Revenge have been in other popular shows and movies, but very few of them are widely known.
Gabriel Mann was Betty’s lover in season 2 of Mad Men.

Connor Paolo, who plays Declan Porter, is Serena’s little brother in Gossip Girl

....and Christa B Allen, who plays Charlotte Grayson, played the younger version of Jennifer Garner’s character in 13 Going on 30.

The High Life
The show features so many glitzy parties and high rollers that you get to live the billionaire lifestyle vicariously. It doesn’t hurt to dream.
